how about you make magma pumps, that pump magma down the mountain in streams, and even make traps that release it. the enemies that wish to scale your mountain shal foolishly believe that it is a volcano!

Happened to me too, recently. Posted about it in the fortress report thread. Started on the tippity top of a mountain over a volcano, with another mountain across it of the same height. Every single object and living creature was on one tile.
