Sandstone and Bauxite Doors can't be placed
« on: October 01, 2010, 09:12:05 am »

The command is "b" then "d" right?

I have two doors, a sandstone one and a bauxite. The problem is the "needs door" error appears. I need them placed asap to trap an insane dwarf.  :P

Perhaps they are still tasked to be hurled to a stockpile before they are available.

Also check if a door blueprint somewhere has been "suspended". This would block the use of that door.

Thanks! What's a "door blueprint"? I've never read about that in any of the tutorials.

There's no such thing as a "door blueprint", just a building which is queued for construction but which hasn't yet been completed - for doors, they show up black with a light grey background.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

Right after I posted this they somehow "found" the doors and installed them. Odd.

Next question: how do I clear a tile of items that dead dwarves (? not sure) have dropped?

You can tag them as trash and have it dumped.

If you dont want to dump these, and they aint forbidden, and you have storage space they will be hauled eventualy.

Thanks! I'll post back if they don't haul the things.

That's a blueprint.

Actually, that's a grayprint. Ahr, ahr, ahr.
