Flooding
« on: October 28, 2010, 08:36:05 pm »

So, I've successfully flooded an underground farm before, but this time my farm is a greater distance from the nearest body of water. The farm is lower than the water, how can I transport the water over a distance?

Or complex irrigation. Make sure you have a big enough stockpile of booze and food so you have enough time to dig out the reservoirs, build a floodgate, some mechanisms, link them, etc.

build a tunnel ntilm over the farm place a hatch above+ lever to handle it and just sprinkle it from above ..

be carefull to measure the amount of water used or place the lever in an area where dwarfes are frequently to quickly shut down  the system :)

alternative is just create a very low water reservoir (multilevel rather large area) and fill it up .. draw a well into it and irrigate by buckets :)
