It's easy to look at TIGSource every now and then and come up with good threads for this forum, I usually resists since a lot of the games there dont excite me so much.
However, the creator of a popular game around here, Notrium, has released for preorder his latest...Driftmoon.
It's a bit expensive for an indie, cost me $17 US and change. However I dont care because I love supporting indie devs. Now on playing this for about 20 minutes so far, I love it.
It's simple, fun, looks kinda ok, like Notrium. The dialogue is funny, the gameplay is kinda cool so far. Worth it? It depends on how much dollars you can spend on games and how much you like this developer.
I recommend it, either now or when it is finished, months from now.
EDIT: typos
UPDATE:
Gameplay is simple and the story, while fun and FUNNY, is routine. It doesnt seem to mater what you say in convo, in fact you want to click each option to get the full story. This is common in old school RPG's and it fits well here.
Combat is a bit blah, etc. Howver I havent obtained all the combat skills. The game is WAAAAY alpha and can use work, and the dev wants our ideas. Ideas? We can do that.
One neat feature is that certain objects are dragable by mouse and this enables a certain type of unique puzzle play style. The potential of this along with the mod tools shipped with even the alpha are promising.
