Naturally, the planet and moons will be increased in size. Should anything be done about the polar 'teleportation' style mechanic? Perhaps a 33% drop in health when crossing from one pole to another or something?

To depict it accurately, the poles would need to be much smaller. Without bending the map severely... maybe you could add one additional space on each pole that must be passed through. Too cold to build a city upon... The health reduction could be done, and would certainly make sense with some ground units, but a plane that is accustomed to travelling in the upper atmosphere doesn't really seem like something that would be damaged...
