Pipe sections

Ok simple question about pipes. I've read the wiki, i've read guides and I've seen them as an option in game before.
When I try to go the workshops and build them. I don't see the option to build pipe sections...am I just blind? Wtf?

you dont see pipe section on any of the metalsmithing menus or any of the glassmaking menus?  how about carpentry?

nope. I don't have glass making or metal smithing but I do have carpentry. I just don't see it.

Did you check the second page of the carpenter's workshop's build list? On mine, it's third from the bottom, just above splints and crutches.

If that fails, try going into the (j)ob (m)anager screen, make a new order(q), and type in "wooden pipe." If it doesn't show there, something is seriously wrong.
