How long is it free for, how large is the download/size on a hard drive, and what can the game be compared to?

I'm interested, but I'd like to know those things first.

Undetermined. It's about 2gbs or so. I don't think you can really compare it to anything. Perhaps a bit with Anarchy Online.

You might want to check that card. Typically, a credit card being denied for any reason is not good news.

Or, the may just not accept that particular card.

The free part is probably a free trial, after which they start billing you automatically(unless you specifically tell them not to). In case it's your card having nothing on it, they aren't going to risk you not having any money in case you forget to cancel your subscription.

Follow my lead:

Create an account using paybycash and cancel/ignore the payment part. Neocron will send you an email with your password and you can simply use that to log in and play.

Nope, it's entirely free right now. Create with paybycash, cancel the payment bits (you wont have to input your CC or anything, so no worries) and use the password that neocron emailed you.

It's not a bug or anything, the devs posted about it themselves on the forum telling people to do exactly that to play for free.

Edit: Just to reiterate, -Don't- use click2pay. Click on Paybycash.

As far as I can tell, Soulwynd's play-for-free method does not work. You can make an account and not pay and you do receive the password by email, but trying to log into the game gives you an "account expired" error.

Edit: Okay, if that doesn't work, try creating with click2pay and cancel the payment. I checked my old trial accounts and they are all working. despise the trials having ended years ago.

Your trial accounts probably work because they were made before the offer started or something.

Yeah, with click2pay you need to go all the way through and then cancel, otherwise you don't get a password email. Your account isn't even created until you go all the way through.

Not sure about that, dev posts do mention it's free to play, even tho they are somewhat hard to find. One of them mentioned the paybycash method that I guess doesn't work.
