Fish cannot swim.
« on: March 20, 2008, 06:01:00 am »

I was walking past a pond when the gar attacked me. I therefore did the moral thing and tore an eye out, when I noticed a nearby sturgeon had apparently drowned with no interference from me.

Fish will "drown" if they become exposed to air for too long, since they can't breathe open air.  It can happen if they somehow find themselves on dry land, and I think it might also happen at certain river bends where the current will shove a fish into a tile that has too little water in it, since that water is constantly getting moved downstream.  I'm not sure if that's it exactly, but that's what it looked like to me when I had a longnose gar sitting in a tile of 4/7 water, and he wasn't trying to rip my throat out or run away.
