Too many volcanoes
« on: October 19, 2010, 02:21:31 am »

Genning a new world after my last fortress was eaten by goblins and tantrums.  Oh, and a berzerk strange mood.  And there was the water flooding he-- but that's not important.

It turns out there is such a thing as too many volcanoes.  There was literally nowhere to embark, except for like 5 places that already had cities, so I was forced to re-gen with fewer volcanoes.

I wonder if this one will be any better.

65x65 world with 1,000 volcanoes instead of the 4,000 I had it set to before.

Have you tried to lower your volcanism? If it's 100/100 you will have volcanoes everywhere.

yes, I did that.  It's working now, but now I just have to find one that doesn't suck or have a city built on it already (and they're mostly elves, God Damn Elves).

1. Set a lignite bin on fire
2. Turn off temperature
3. Set it up in their precious forest
4. Turn temperature back on
5. Profit.

Why use lingite when I have bituminous for the same thing?

Fixed that for me.
