Heh I was actually going to say how to get out in the draw yer adventures thread, but then I saw ya make this.

swim over to the edge of the river and hold alt and try to move to the dry ground.  It should give you a choice of where to go.  Pick where to go and it should put you there.  (To get out of water you need 7 deep water and to not be drowning)

Last I checked there was a bug related to it though, if it dosn't work the first time do it again, it should work the second time.

EDIT: For more detail.  Alt+move is the move carefully command.  Although it is hardly careful most of the time.  Alt+move allows you to do things like jumping off of cliffs or fly into the air if you happen to be modded to fly.

It basically just gives you a list choice of all the moves reasonably possible in the indicated direction, not just the default.

What about modding giant desert scorpions to breath fire and travel in packs?

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

Lol, the last time I fell in a river I had to swim into town and retire to get out! (Saughtering carp and hippos all the way...)

try making carp that do that, OR even worse, mod groundhogs to be predators and give them firebreath, in 40d i had made the ultimate killer rabbits (holy hand grenades not included) which spat fireballs and exploded when they died

anywho back on topic now, try fighting some buzzards on a cliff face only to dodge off the cliff and land in a carp and hippo infested river 6Z levels down
