This happens a lot for me, I find it starts working again after a little while.

This also happens for me occasionally. When it happens I can't access the site from my computer, but on my phone it works fine.

Occasionally instead of typing bay12forums.com/smf I type bay12games.com/smf and the 'can't access' page comes up that also used to come up all the time when the forums were actually down, so I was confused for a while. Perhaps this is your problem?

darkling sudely stoped working for me yesterday. I managed to get it to the defoaut theme somehow but I'm unable to read the DF subforums and this theme is damn near unreadable! D:

Isn't there a way to force the DF area into using the horrible default theme?

Not that I know of. Also this theme hurts my eyes.

If you switch to the Core theme and not default, it forces the DF forums to use it as well.
Meanwhile, I could write you up a simple script to change the colours.
It should work fine through Greasemonkey on either Firefox or Chrome.
