The security guard points to one of the volunteers. "You. Smith. Your up first. Everyone else, feel free to return to your trailers. Remember, there's a direct feed in your trailers that will allow you to see how the previous contestant has done."
You are now John Smith.
As the others head to their trailers, some disappointed, some not so much, the security guard waves you to the front gate, where several other guards are milling around. "First, we're going to have to search your belongings - there are some things the boss doesn't want in the challenge area. Oh, and you should know - if you ever want to give up, just yell out "Octopus Stew!" and we'll send a team in to pull you out. Note that saying it disqualifies you, but that should be obvious."
They pat you down and go through your bag. Satisfied with what they find, they wave to someone behind the heavy steel doors and they slowly swing open, making a low grind and a sharp squeek as they do so. One of the guards mutters something about they should have oiled the thing. Behind the doors is a long hallway, about 6 feet wide and 12 feet tall, with the ceiling open to the sky and the hot sun.
Steadying your nerves, you step inside, and the large doors swing shut behind you with a grind, squeak and then a loud clang. Along one of the walls, you see a panel built in with a digital clock counting down. It currently says 13.59.52.
Walking to the end of the tunnel, you see it opens into a small room with three doors. One is on the left wall, and says "MAZE". One is on the right and says "BRIDGE". The one directly ahead says "LAWN" and underneath, in smaller words, says "Warning! Danger!"
In the middle of a room sits a man in a in a t-shirt and slacks with a rough goatee and long hair. On his shirt is an image of a dwarf laboring. The dwarf is surrounded by dwarfs. The man is sitting with his legs crossed and watches you as you enter the room, but says nothing.
What do you want to do?
