[38c] ocean waves in a drained ocean
« on: March 16, 2008, 10:59:00 pm »

After draining the ocean, I notice that ocean waves spawn even right on top of my green glass floors.  At least, I think that's what's happening: it's a dozen tiles to the nearest ocean tile or ramp down, and suddenly the water on a floor went to 5/7, some mist formed, and a couple of frames later, on a passage above that spot there's "An Ocean Wave" in one spot and 1/7 water in another.

Currently waves have nothing to do with water.

They still shouldn't be spawning in the middle of my fort.

Then don't build your fort right above the ocean.  :D

If I drained the frikkin' OCEAN, I'd expect a bug, quite frankly.

And, it teaches all your dwarves how to swim!

Surely it should be possible to have Dutch dwarves.

Yeah, I think the wave generators don't bother checking the state of the map when they go ahead with things.  I'll note it down.
