I'm not exactly sure what's up with this.  Every new world I've generated since downloading the newest version has evidently had a different evolutionary path.  I've got wizards in place of dwarves, frogmen in place of humans, and lizardmen instead of elves.  Though that is kind of cool, is there any way I can fix this and get my traditional fantasy races back?

Are you or were you using any mod ?

think it's due to your mod.  The order happens to be offset by a constant number (you can check out creature_standard.txt in raw).  have you added or messed with any civ races?  I think the easiest way is to restore all the raw files from the downloaded archive again.

Try a fresh install.   Overwritten files will also cause this.

Overwritten file's probably right, since I installed over an older copy.  Thanks for the advice

Yeh the evolutionary path is messed up. It's-

Dwarves > Wizards > Dragons.
