De-equipping caged prisoners.
« on: October 08, 2010, 07:28:31 am »

Sorry for such a noob quest. I have inherited a sucession fort with a massive stockpile of goblins. I've tried but can't seem to find out how to see if the gobbo's are still wearing armour, and if so how to strip it off them. Do you have to build to cages somewhere to do this, or can you leave the cages in the stockpile in the stockpile. I wish the wiki covered this.

Hit (d)-(b)-(d), select all the cages in the stockpile then hit (k) and un-dump (d) all the cages themselves.  Your dwarfs will collect their belongings.

Wow, wish I knew you could do that before I dumped all those goblin cages into the magma. Oh well.

Isn't a d-b-c also necessary? At least it doesn't hurt. :)

Well, once they're in the dump, yes.

Another thing you can try is under the z-Stocks menu, find the forbidden weapons, unforbid and mark for dumping.

I prefer this because they keep their armor and it makes them last longer as training dummies; if you're into that sort of thing.

This is a feature, not a bug, correct?
You're playing Dwarf Fortress.  There isn't much of a distinction.
