Additional Alloys
« on: October 07, 2010, 02:42:25 pm »

Just thought I would throw out a few more alloys that might work in Dwarf fortress:

White Copper (Cupronickel)
3 parts copper, 1 part nickel.
Very corrosive resistant material.
Used in boat hulls and coins
(known by the Chinese since around the 3rd century B.C.)

Material properties: Cupro-nickel melts at 1170 °C and has a density of 8,910 kg/m3 (0.322 lb/in3).

Green Gold
3 parts gold, 1 part silver
Appears as a greenish yellow rather than green

I really like the idea!  :D  It would be awesome if corrosion resistance could be modeled as well...

Check out this thread.  You might find it interesting.  I strongly believe it should be in the suggestions forum and would be a great place to post what you just posted to supplement it and perhaps expand the scope of that thread to include the metallurgy of non-iron-alloys.
