getting ascii/ansi to work in PS?
« on: October 03, 2010, 08:11:01 pm »

Does anyone know how to get the full ascii character set used in DF into a Mac's Font Book so I can use it in Photoshop? I'm working on a DF shirt design and it would make my life sooo much easier than having to draw it all up by hand.

I DLed a font called ascii.ttf from the net but 1. it doesn't have all the charaters (or if it does I can't get them to come out) 2. It's way to clean (too high rez).

Thanks in advance if you can help I'd be very grateful.

I'm sure someone's made a good faux-ASCII font in True Text Font format. If not one of us can. Or heck, research how to do it yourself, since you've already got the characters drawn for you it can't be that hard to reverse engineer an existing font.

? All the DF tiles are scaled down from that one source file.

Baughn might be able to help.

Well, actually I don't know if that one source file is the source of all characters.

Thanks sensei and eerr. Yeh I decided it would take me longer to hunt around for a font than just use the source file (they're in the art folder btw).  So I'm doing it from scratch using the file. I'll post it up when I'm finished.
