I just made an artifact adamantine ring, and it multiplied my total wealth by ten! This is the summer of my fort's second year (I found the adamantine by revealing the magma sea), and I already have 1.8 million dwarfbucks in wealth. This is just an epic WTF moment. Anyway, if the goblins weren't messed up I'd be screwed by whatever seige they'd decide to throw at me right now.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that this is my first artifact.

it won't help.  Craft artifacts suck unless they've got some cool pictures on them.

I don't think rooms work quite that way, but if you had display cases, you could build one with the ring in the dining room and your dorfs would likely never get below ecstatic.

Interesting fact: despite having 10x more wealth this season than last, I attracted no migrants.

This is why I leave crap material's near crafts stations, and awesome materal's near my metal smith, planning like this has made several awesome armor and weapon pieces.

So the "stick it in the dining room" plan won't work, but i'll compensate by mass-producing gold and platinum statues to go there instead. It IS kinda useless, but at least I have tons of wealth now. (Another season with no migrants, for some reason. You'd think they'd actually WANT to come.)

Craft artifacts such as rings and bracelets currently don't do anything except give Kobolds a reason to send thieves and give Goblins a reason to attack you.

I recommend downloading the Display Case mod that lets you put these artifacts in a room to boost wealth.
