adventure-mode crash on first attempt to trade w/ shopke

I'm 2/2 on this with df_27_176_38_c - start adventure mode, talk to the mayor and get a quest, have the drunk join, go find the shopkeeper, say t)rade, and it crashes.

Just reproed again in 38b - didn't enlist the drunk this time.

I might have fixed this for next time when I fixed a trade crash in dwarf mode.  If you have/prepare a save just before the crashing trade, I can make sure.  Thanks for your help.

toadyone@bay12games.com or somewhere downloadable
region folder in some kind of zip/rar/7z
any new objects that were added to the raw folder

More data - I was using Play Now!  I think it was giving me a guy with no stuff, so I had nothing to trade.
If you can't repro that way let me know and I'll try to prepare a save.  jdfristrom@gmail.com

Ah, if you were a play now guy, I'm pretty sure I've fixed it for next time with that other bug.
