Terribly disappointed? Shouldn't everyone here already played it ;)?

I don't suppose this recent re-release is compatible with linux? (or, more specifically, windows emulators?)

PS:T is a directdraw game, and wine has supported directdraw almost since the beginning. In fact, it might even run better under Wine than under native windows since it suffers from accelerated directdraw bugs on windows. For me it gets choppy every time I hover the mouse over any door or chest (anything that gets the blue highlight).

I nearly got the tattoo on my back (to make it not visible when going to job interviews).

Well, I meant this new download rather than the old one - I haven't actually found a copy of the old one for sale in quite a while. Since its been upgraded and bundled with an installer on GoG, I was wondering if that might cause problems.

Technical Tip :

When I first played PS:T, all the characters' sprites would not change direction, so when you walked it looked as if the characters were moonwalking.

There is an option in the video setup for "sprite mirroring" or something to that effect, just make sure that is enabled if you have this problem.

I'm running it on Vista.

I already own Planescape, but have never played it.  I found it a few months ago for-sale, lying in a pile of old music software from my local library of all places.  It was only $1.99 - I got lucky.  I also own BG 1 and 2, as I bought them at their original release.

I'm sure Planescape has a great story and a rich atmosphere and all, but I've never been a fan of the dark/grotesque, non-nonsensical fantasy setting.

Oh, and I'd be willing to put money down on GoG coming out nice after the whole shut-down stunt.  As I've read a lot of news stories about this, I've seen a crap-load of comments from people who have never even heard of them before and become very excited about the idea of a DRM free digitial distribution company.

Most people who already frequent GoG (like me), aren't going to let a little mishap like this impact our feelings toward them.  GoG has to screw up a LOT more before I switch to BS like Steam or Impulse.  We need more companies like GoG, not less.

If you got that tattoo, you'd end up with interesting friends.

Also, Steam doesn't stock a lot of old and pre-DRM games.  But the old ones it DOES stock, ARE DRM-free and often even cracked.  Witness: X-Com.  The original X-Com had DRM.  Their version doesn't.

I played this game AGES ago. I might still have the actual CD somewhere. I really liked the fact that you actually had to die in order to progress the plot.

Protip: If you are stuck and cant figure out what to do next, die. Then more things happen, yay!

Yes, dying on purpose can be used for many great ends.

Apparently having a redundant creature entry causes the game to say, "Oh, look, it's crazy world now. Nothing makes sense! Alligators live in houses!"

Planescape: Torment was released on GoG.com for a tenner today and none of you have made a thread on it yet?

Because I bought it when it's first released, played at least eight times through and don't care about its re-release on GoG? ;)

It will be nice to give it another go though... but I have lots of games on the list. Civilization 5, Armored Princess Crossworlds, and Witcher 2 is coming next year (and I am still at Witcher 1's chapter 4 due to graphics card hardware problems, just got a GeFore 460 1Gb with Civ5).

You think you have computer troubles?  My whole damn desktop is a paperweight thanks to some weird Malware I downloaded that apparently screwed up my motherboard so that it breaks any hardware I attach to it... Or something...

... I would say "THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE," except that it actually sounds THEORETICALLY POSSIBLE - but wouldn't that require so ridiculously much effort and inside knowledge, and wouldn't it only work with one motherboard model out of all the different motherboard models, that it would be a horrible waste of effort for whoever was writing it?

Which is to say, I must now pick up occam's razor to say "Are you sure your motherboard isn't just DAMAGED?"

Hehe, good one :P. I too laugh at people who say "malware killed my pc" while it could be a burnt bridge or some unknown physical damage.

And I've played PT a few times, so this release means nothing for me (I still have my 4 CD :P).
