Giant wall of "oh god what the hell"
« on: September 29, 2010, 07:49:18 pm »

I'd post a screenshot but it spans so many levels (over 100 I think) that trying to do so would be ridiculous. Instead, I shall post a save file that you can try out at your own risk. I know there's blue stuff in there, and lots and lots of lava, but there is other stuff happening aswell, such as undiscovered ground being right next to open space with no border of material inbetween.

Should I just put this down to "It's Dwarf Fortress" or should this be filed as a bug report?

Also, I get an FPS of around 1-2, so there's evidently a -lot- of stuff going on considering I get about 150fps when embarking on a site of that size.

Hope to hear comments soon :P

I'm honored to be the first to download it.  I just abandoned my last fortress so good timing.

Just so I know before going in, is this straight off embark or after you dug some?

EDIT:  Didn't realize this was for .14, too bad the Mac version doesn't work on 10.4 Macs.  :(

That's what cages and minecart shotguns are for!  We don't need to control them.  We just need to aim them.

Someone post a map on the DFMA.

Also, the undiscovered crap next to open space is perfectly normal. Just open up a cavern and see.

The massive FPS problems are greatly alleviated after a few minutes.

Obligatory spoiler warning here.

So this is just a worldgen quirk, and not a bug that needs seeing to?
