Modded weapon question
« on: September 26, 2010, 05:12:08 pm »

I created a modded weapon called an arbalest that was supposed to function at least somewhat like it actually would. More or less based everything off the crossbow but bigger, dwarves have to multigrasp it, has it's own larger, metal-only ammo, etc.

However I'm running into a problem where it fires just as fast as a crossbow, totally trivializing crossbows. Is there a way to make the reload take longer?

If not then i'll settle for writing out the reaction to require adamantine thread rather than making a steel thread item only used to make an arbalest, but ideally it'd take at least three to four times as long to reload.

Unfortunately last time I checked there is no way to control the rate of fire of ranged weapons. I believe the only factor the changes how fast the weapon is fired is how skilled the user is.

I just realized two things. 1. For the Win and F___ the World have the same initials. 2. They have the same meaning in Dwarf Fortress.
