desalination question
« on: September 24, 2010, 04:59:19 am »

I know screw pumps desalinate salt water. I've also heard that the desalinated  water must never touch a natural wall, smoothed or otherwise. Does this include the ceiling?

It can touch the 'ceiling' without being re-salinated.

Ceilings don't really exist in DF, they're considered the 'floor' of the previous z-level. That you can't touch from the current z-level.  So really, the tops of all dwarf mines are covered in a 2-dimensional force field.
