Yeah, and after their season-long naps, the players are greeted with this lovely sight:

Code: [Select]
Urist McFullbladder has drowned
Urist McSimple has drowned
Urist McSleepy has drowned

while the lower areas of the fort slowly fill with 'water' because your location has terrible drainage.

Maybe fouling the river for the elves would be a viable strategy.

"DUMP *SEWAGE* in RIVER"

Then you'd have the dwarves taken by moods crafting beds and armor and goblets out of sewage.

...Yeah, I think waste management should be the next step for DF

Ok, so I'm adding Creepers into my next DF mod.  Hmm, how to make them explode?

Just give them a dust attack and set their temperatures up really high....

Exerpt from townbrush.txt by Internet Kraken:

"Nobody wants to live in Townbrush, and for good reason. Almost everyone that has come to Townbrush has been eaten, stabbed, crushed, drowned, hacked, incinerated, or beaten to death with an octopre skin backpack. When we're not under siege, we're being attacked by Forgotten Beasts. And when we're not being attacked by Forgotten Beasts, there's probably a zombie whale crushing someone to death in the dining room."

I can't say for sure, but judging from the features planned, I think it would probably be best to gen a new world.  I'm planning on doing that, along with an update to my old mod.

You won't get a save break in principle, but I'm not sure you'd get the new features. So sure, you can continue with your old fortresses with the bug fixes that'll come with .17 but most likely you wouldn't get any of the new Spoilers Toady has said there'd be.

Urist McPirate is taken by a fey mood!
I want rock ba.... (ekhm) new version !

But seriously. I wanted to start playing adv mode like a week ago, but then I read that a new version with loads of new features is coming out soon, so I'm waiting ever since. I know it's a lot of work, to fix all these bugs, but soon I'm gonna go insane ;P How long will it take ?

If you want to START playing adventure mode, now's as good as time as ever to get used to the basic controls. It was disorientating for me at first while I learnt how to put water in a waterskin and all that. Then when you've got the controls in your head you'll have the new version to use them on. Arena mode also has an adventure mode "play as this unit" feature so you can get used to how combat works. It'll change yes, but may as well learn the basics now so you can learn the advanced stuff when the feature is available.

I already played it some time ago, so I know how to play. Then I played fortress mode for a long while, and just lost my fortress, so I thought I'll switch to adventure mode for a while and maybe visit my old fortresses. I don't wanna start another fortress either, cause it'll take a while before it becomes 'fun' :P On top of that i'd like to see how these fortress mode bugfixes too. So I'm gonna wait anyway.
