When are my dwarfs getting busy?

So I just had a game where 3 dwarfs had babies right at the same time! Are they competing or conspiring together to have a pregnancy pact?!  :P Also, do they just randomly have babies when married?

I always took it as an assumption that if the woman is married, she's pregnant : P
