Up to and including slade? Not in vanilla DF, but if you obtain the rock somehow, can it be made into an artifact?

If it's in your stockpiles, it can be used (i.e. it's possible) in an artifact.

Spoiler your spoilers, heathen.

Also, well... yes. But fortresses that GET slade normally don't live enough to make artifacts out of it. You could also cheat in slade using a reaction... but I dunno, everything is usable in artifacts, and if you had a dwarf that really likes slade, but it's hardcoded specfically NOT to be usable...

Oh goody, SCIENCE time.

Can't you carve like upward ramps into slade, provided you can't see it or some other exploit clever move like that?

You can dig into slade. I have a slade stone sitting at the bottom level of a slade fortress on my embark, that I managed to breach by digging up into unrevealed slade tiles from below. After my military and war elephants rescued the hordes of Urist McZealousgarbagedwarf from rampaging skeletal chimps, skeletal crocs, and zombie toads, I just forbade anyone from touching it. I gotta admit though, having a big nasty untouchable fortress just sitting there abandoned kinda makes me wanna do something with it.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

Send in the soldiers and kill everything in it.

OT: I forgot to mention that only raw materials can be used for artifacts. Your artifact adamantine short sword cannot menace with spikes of cheese and dwarven ale. Even if you could, it would probably feature a host of bugs like the dwarf eating it (the sword) when he gets hungry and dying of massive internal bleeding, and your next dwarf picks it up and the cycle continues...

I've never seen ligaments, hair or nervous tissue used.
