No magma sea? Also, spoilers. (31.14)
« on: September 24, 2010, 07:21:49 pm »

So, I generated a world with a minimum volcanism of 10, and no other odd parameters.  Embarked on a relatively unremarkable site, and ran an exploratory couple of staircases down ALLLLLLL the way to -35.

I pierced Spoilertown.  Clownland.  I can see UP a bluemetal pipe to my left. I got the "eerie cavern" announcement, but there was no clownspam.  I seem to have skipped the third cavern layer.

Edit: Okay, I did get "horrifying screams" and clown generation a few minutes later.  This fort is probably doomed, but I've saved it off in case I need to upload it.  Think this needs a bug report?

There was a bluemetal pipe down to it that I didn't pierce.  It was my understanding that was normal.  Where do I post a save?

Whoa, second embark collapsed into the HFS.  I can see into the eerie glowing pits from the surface.

Save is from the first embark.  I can't handle the second, too much lag.

I have a sneaking suspicion that in world gen, a hole in the magma sea drained the whole thing into HFS.

Not it!
also Idk if what you're describing could be caused by a drained magma sea, wouldn't that just cause a HUGE cave and normal HFSes?

Update: yep, that's a cool oddity, I also noticed some weirdly shaped bottomless pits inside hell, is that a feature too?

No idea.  When I embarked in the bottom-right, though, a square section of ground just dropped right into one.
