I managed to get a world in which elves (and kobolds) are the only surviving civilization. Somehow the dwarves and humans died out early and the elves took over the goblin fortresses.

Looking through the history I saw:

In 7, the ass monster Tilesh Dripstalked fooled The Hale Confederation into believing it was a manifestation of the deity Leti.

It became that human group's law-maker the same year and was killed by a cyclops the year after.

Actually I was thinking more of a monster from a 3DO game who's name escapes my memory at the moment.
