I'll have a think about that, but for now it'll be fairly normal. Farming is already a free-stuff button, so I'd rather not have it even more so.

It's not an embark so much as seven dwarves having a simultaneous strange mood and going off to build an artifact fortress that menaces with spikes of awesome and hanging rings of death.

Added a link in the OP. Still very, very beta!

I've been away, so I may be a while before I start updating again.

are you working on the dye mixing, because I could help if needed
I'm glad someones doing a basic plant mod to make things make sense , while is adding more dyes (I like things staying simple)

Comment though, do you plan for them all to keep the names you've assigned them currently? Because (I'm not sure if it's not just me) I prefer the underground plants at least to be more imaginative than cave -plant- or dwarven -plant-

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mushroom_dye http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethnolichenology(first part) for dyes

Thanks for the link. I wanted the plants to be analogues of real plants, but I might make them more creative at some point. Troglodyte wheat, anyone?

Some help on the dye-blending would be nice. I figure it could be a seperate building, but I think it would work better as part of the Dyer's Workshop.

Ill need to know the names you plan to give the dyes then.
the reaction itself shouldn't be too difficult, then copypasta multiple times.

the grey dye reactions would just have different ratios between the black and white for dark and light.

I'd already made some more underground plants for myself  before this, for the purpose of dyeing and more fibres. would you like the code for them?

I'll be OK, but thanks for the offer.

As for dye names:

Red dye - Tormentil dye
Blue dye - Elderberry dye
Yellow dye - Mignonette dye
Purple dye - Royal dye
Orange dye - Pumpkin dye
Green dye - Emerald dye
Grey dye - Stone dye
