Armor Stockpile
« on: December 03, 2007, 01:34:00 am »

I've found that armor stockpile with option for Armor/Body -> Robes, Shirts, Tunics, etc. turned on does not working. All my leather items (like Shirts, Tunics etc.) are lying one floor up and none does not wanna store 'em in this stockpile (i have all materials and qualities turned on, usable option is on too). The only things that actually stored are Leather armors (on appropriate stockpile with Armor/Body/Armor option turned on).

Consider this as a bug.

Try a finished goods stockpile.  I don't think clothing is considered armor.

look for Armor option in custom stockpile menu. There's leather material over there (so as silk and plant fiber).

Open Body section, there is Shirts, Cloaks, etc. options there.

WHY my leather Shirt is not moved to stockpile with Armor/Material/Leather and Armor/Body/Shirts option turned on? It's lying 3 squares away from it but still ignored by haulers. Also other leather body wear. Only Leather Armor works.

P.S.: All qualities is on and usable option too.

Because, once again, clothing is a finished good, not armor.  Make a custom stockpile that contains both clothing and armor if you want the haulers to bring your clothes there.

Leather clothes do not count as armor despite being leathery.
(old wiki, but most likely still applies)

After looking at the armor stock piles again, I can see why this happens.  Maybe this could be turned into a suggestion and remove these articles from the list for armor.  Looks rather confusing to me.

Side note for people going into this topic w/ similar problems,
a custom stockpile has to have at least some quality preferences enabled to get anything.  I've had stockpiles sit empty until I remembered to enable qualities.  Type, Material, and quality are required!

I know thats not the OP's problem, just wanted to put it here for others ;p

Also, clothing owned by a dwarf won't get moved to a stockpile.  That dwarf will need a cabinet in their bedroom, I think, before they'll move the clothing.

But there is actual leather armor.  Clothing just isn't it.
