33d: manager very slow
« on: December 02, 2007, 09:26:00 pm »

I like my managers at work, so no manager jokes...

In game, no production orders are being validated.  I changed the manager to my out-of-work Lye Maker (good pun there), he has no job but work orders are still unvalidated.  I built him offices, quarters, etc. and he's happy with that but still No Job and no validations.

OK, he got to it after a longggg time.  Maybe because of his low skill?  But then I think the manage work orders job would just take longer.

I have experienced a delay when a dwarf is used to doing a certain task over and over again, and then it suddenly changes. Most generally, this happened when I was testing the "cleaning" task in forts. Just wait, soon he'll be pumping out orders like wildfire.

Maybe it's got something to do with the "...doesn't like to try new things" an "...is open to new ideas" traits?

Nope. I've got the same thing going on, but the manager is "eager to try new things."
