Cat Discovers Adamantine
« on: September 07, 2010, 04:11:39 am »

After a barrage of goblin ambushes, little kitty decides to take advantage of the situation and dive into a volcano enroute towards the center of the Earth and in the process discovered a bunch of minerals, a magma pool, magma sea and even adamantine:

...Kamikaze Kitty?
Put all four legendary miners to shame anyway.

 :o MICROCLINE!?

PRAISE THE FELINES FOR DISCOVERING THE GREATEST MINERAL IN ALL OF DWARF FORTRESS!

Oh, adamantine too. Yeah, I guess that's pretty badass as well.

I had to imagine some badass scarred up dwarf with a battleaxe blade strapped directly to his arm over the stump.

When I read this, I was quite speechless. But then I heartly laughed, and found the dfhack utility that digs out whole z-level veins of a material, just to dump a hellton of microcline into a volcano. Good job.

That is how I always find the good stuff down there. Good thing magma doesn't melt stuff right.

Or maybe there's a god who's just completely insane and sends you to Detroit, Michigan in a new body if you ever utter the name "Pat Sajak".

I like how it got all the way to the bottom before melting. :D

Edit:
Microcline is pretty rare in my current fort, I'm saving all mine up. Just in case.

Also saving Olivine, Kimberlite, and Cinnabar.

Edit2: And Mica. For it's ironic magma safe properties.
