I think he means from cave-ins (natural walls at least).
Sounds right. From what I've heard natural walls drop at infinite speed, unlike anything else. It's the reason why those old magma-pipe-bathysphere projects always ended with the container falling through its crew and crushing them.

That's because the walls acted as individual units (each tile being separate, that is) so there was no way for it to hold its shape. Pancaked as soon at fell.
