I don't know wheter this should be in the General Discussion, but I thought I'd still ask it. So, my laptop's specs are:
Intel Core i3 330M 2.13 Ghz
Ram: 4GB
VGA: ATI Mobility Radeon HD5650 1024 MB
HDD: 320 GB
I know I will be able to run it, at least in the beginning, but I wonder if I will be able to when I get to the later stages of the game.

I'm no computer expert, but I am a grammar nazi. So it's "How well will DF run on this laptop?"


On topic, It's better than mine besides the processor though, so I'd say you would get 100fps at embark but you'd start gradually slowing down at 20 dwarfs.

Well sir your post is a piece of waste. If you are the "grammer nazi" then i must me the "STFU nazi". At least you answered his question. The i3 will play the game at a very reasonable level, seems people got good luck with the i cores from Intel.

Theres a test fort people were using to compare framerates, lots of random humans pathing around gives you a fair idea of the kind of framerate you'll have with that kind of population. From what i remember you'll get fairly good framerate on that kind of system. It's a pity multicores aren't supported yet.

No need to get belligerent. He wasn't impolite about the incorrect grammar. You seem to subscribe to that group of people who take offense to being corrected at all, to the point of lashing out at people who are just trying to be helpful. Proper grammar is important when you're speaking (or typing) in any language. That's why I don't speak in French; I know the words, but not the grammar.

Anyway. Getting off my soapbox to say that I'm running a last generation (as in, generation before this one) computer chip, with close to the same Ghz. However, I imagine that the i3, as it is a newer generation, would probably run a good deal better. Generally, I don't think you'd have many fps problems.
