The parkan demo keeps not working when i'm using 7zip..Please help, oh, and if you say I need winRAR, then please link to it because ALL of the links i've found so far are viruses.

Also, if you're worried about viruses, download the self-extractor installer straight from http://www.rarlab.com. If your AV software detects a virus even then, something's wrong with it, not the archive.

eddendum: After some testing, I've concluded that the english version of the game won't work with any movies at all. That is, they're just skipped. Maybe some different settings will work better? Anyway, for now the best solution is to try and translate the russian executable itself - fortunately, I have some experience in the matter.

Yay, downloaded it!
As a proud player of russian version I can say, that english translation is a friggin' crap - looses three fourths of it's charm. And screen doesn't stop flickering. And that annoying bug with super-fast lifts and doors... (You need to load your proc to solve this)

Also: I can do the translation if you provide me with russian texts.

Nah. Things like this are better translated by one person. I've already translated half the text in the executable (and killed the executable in the process, but that's beside the point )

Where can i find the controls?

In a brilliant stroke of genius, inside your ship's computer. Alternatively, there's a little .hlp file that should list the controls.

To access the computer, click the big "WALK" button on your main HUD, and you'll start walking in your ship. Go right, and look for a black square panel with a rhombic crosshair in the next room. That's the computer. Walk up to it and you should see the instructions, right after the plot-important message.

Russian version can be found at isohunt for example. There are two versions of russian game release: 1) 1997 release: needs patch (~40 Mb) to use features of 3d cards of 1997-1998 (Voodoo? Riva 128?) and can ask for specific words from manual as an antipiracy measure; 2) contains manual in pdf, no need to patch, don't ask for specific words. And may be third: Version from Parkan GOLD (~2008 year) release can also have more Win XP friendly installer.
