I do not have any doubt in my mind that Bill Roper is not actually sufficient in any manner. Hellgate London was terrible since the Alpha, but Mythos was always improving and innovating. However it was purely a creation of Travis Baldree, Max and Erich Shaefer. However the IP is now under the complete control of another company, leaving runic games (formed by Travis, Max and Erich) to produce the clearly subpar Torchlight.

I dunno what to say about this. I loved NWN 1 (albeit the default campaign was lacking), I thought 2 was just OK, and tried too hard to imitate KOTOR.

Anyway, if NWN3 is sort of like the NWN persistent servers... maybe worth looking at. I don't really know in what way this is going to actually relate though.

Anyway, am I the only one who liked the first one?

I did, although as a DnD game, rather than an RPG, it was lacking a certain je ne sais quoi.

The best DnD game I've played is Temple of Elemental Evil, buggy piece of crap that it is, but as a game, not as an adaptation, it was completely inferior to any of Black Isle's Forgotten Realms games.

I think most would agree with you, at least compared to the second one.  I didn't like the campaign or expansion campaigns all that much, but I would play with the mod and GM tools for hours and then have my friends run through my maps.

I think the expansion pack campaigns were a lot more fun too.

Actually, Shadows of Undrentide was kind of... not good.

Hordes of the Underdark was awesome though. And it had a ridiculous difficulty spike, with some genuinely surprising moments.

the great thing about NWN 1 is that it is STILL the only game out there that allows DMs to run players through their own creations, with robust tools to control the world and create a living experience for players that AI and scripted events will never accomplish.

I'm pretty sure the first vampire: the masquerade game let DMs do that too. But yeah, its wierd that game developers just abandoned that concept entirely.

The first V:tM game did indeed do this.  It wasn't very well developed as an engine, and the gm tools weren't *mind-blowing*, but they were indeed usable.  I liked it.  Vampire: the Masquerade: Redemption was fun, and the single-player story reminded me of the tabletop games I was in in, like, middle school...Heh.

Have you not heard? That's what game companies do these days. Instead of adding a number, they drop half the title.

For the horse, though, it's possible that wild horses migrated in, knocked her up, and migrated off.
Did they even call afterward?

I dunno about that.
"4 Dead" has an entirely different meaning.
