comparing it to ascii is not fair, ascii can actually be beautiful and informative at the same time.

Of course i never meant we could not see past that, but reports of the game being shallow are not promising.

Granted, it's not Master of Orion 2, but it's not particularily more shallow than other 4x's (or the original Master of Magic, for that matter)

you can get it from plenty of places, but have to run it in dosbox. Plus, hey, clones are nice. Civlization 1 and 2 can also be gotten from "around", yet noone minds the existence of Freeciv.
