Taming a dragon.
« on: September 13, 2010, 10:54:29 pm »

I'm sure this has been asked before, and I looked for it, but couldn't find it.

With the Dungeon Master currently glitched, taming captured creatures is currently impossible. I've tried to change the raw files to reflect that a dragon should be tameable, but can't find the correct thing.

What should I add ?

Do I need to delete anything about it being exotic ?

delete [PET_EXOTIC]

replace with. [PET]

(there is another code out there that you can add somewhere that will automatically imply this to all files, but I'm not sure what it is or where you put it)

Thank you!

Anyone else know what/where that code is/should go?

EDIT: The dragon is sitting in the animal stockpile. I've set the tag to [PET]. There is a kennel directly next to him, and when I go to the Tame Animal menu, nothing appears.

I've restarted DF, but am still unsure what's wrong.

You need to edit the raws in data/save/[regionX]/raw/objects.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

Alright. Dragon Tamed and turned into a War Dragon.

I just received a king, and now my dragon is going ballistic and trying to kill the king and his entire entourage.  What gives ?

Anyone know ? I'm trying to chain it up.

Did he taste dwarf blood before being caught and tamed?

No, he didn't. Ha.

He's not attacking anyone but my king and queen.

He's going to be the main event of my Colosseum, so not a huge deal. But, it's a little irritating.

Maybe it's because they're not technically part of my civilization ?
