Magma AQ
« on: August 21, 2010, 10:52:51 am »

A little help with some magma stuff here  :-\. After having 2 of my legendary miners die in a magma bath by accident due to my pump splashing the magma all over , how do i safely put the magma in a reserviour? I have a big pit dug up just behind the pump , but even if its not full , the magma still flowed out! Advice plz , thanks !

surround the pump with walls, so that the magma only has two directions, foward, and back, and possibly up if you let the pump run to long...

Pumps will never move liquids to a higher z-level than themselves.

ah k ... will do. i think i got the pump problem understood now , it was spewing magma in 3 directions from the "out" end.

Technically the pump will only spew out the far end, the situation is that liquids flow in a circular pattern so the magma was coming around the sides.

Just try it! Its not like you die IRL if Urist McMiner falls into magma.
