Students spend 20 (if you count only working days) or 21 hour and 20 minutes (if you count all 7 days) a week asleep? 

As for me, I don't play DF very often, but when I do, I spend all my time on it

That road leads to low DF times:
work to get money for beer -> drink beer -> sleep in stupour,
that leaves only scant minutes for study AND DF!

Myself, I tended to clock in at 16-32.  I play maybe every couple months, but I tend to...not stop.  Or sleep much.

Hmm, on a week I do play...

Well, it's playing in the loosest sense. Whenever I play on one day, I leave DF running for about 12 hours or so, basically the entire time I'm awake. My fort is so slow that I basically just peek in at it every so often to make sure all is well, and I go and play something else or read TVTropes for ten hours or whatever I've been sucked into at the time. I probably do this two or three days in a row before I stop.

Helps that I usually designate mass projects too, like "Clean the front entrance... ALL OF IT.", digging large rooms, mass-melting goblinite... things like that. The fort is still interactive enough to be fun though. There's always some siege/ambush/beast ready to lay the beat down on my failing military.

I have my entire day free, no work, no nothing. I'm kind of a hermit. A hermit with DF. That is about as nightmarish as it suggests.
