In adventure mode you could use bronze or iron-weaoons.

But neither bronze or iron seem to hurt a bronze colossus at all. I read on a forum that some guy killed a bronze colossus with n  bronze spear. I tried some object testing and it doesn't seem to work for me.

Then we have this guy, that in version 31.03 found an adamantine short-sword in an underground structure:

I tried to go underground myself once, but never found any rare weapons. I'm now exploring an another underground cavern beyond a bronze colossus lair. I'm not sure what I will find there, but probably no adamantine sword.

My questions are: Is it still possible to find adamantine weapons underground?
And have anyone killed a BK with only bronze/iron weapons in v 0.31.12? Because it seems impossible. My adventurers sword skill is legendary, but the attacks only glances away.

If there is no proper way of killing a bronze colossus in adventure mode, then I have to find fluffy wamblers(have never seen one in adventure mode) or just start a fortress and make some steel or adamintine weapons.

Okay, let's see what this underground cavern beyond the bronze colossus hides. If I don't find anything i'll retire and build a fort that produces steel weapons.

They're definitely like that in Fortress mode, but I've visited several as an Adventurer and

none of them had any undead creatures at all, and even when I descended into the depths of Hell, I didn't run into any actual demons until I was out through the bottom and traversing the Slade hills.
