over a decade since my last contact with the enemy (40d)
« on: August 10, 2010, 03:02:03 pm »

I'm playing a "no migrants" style game, so my population is growing slowly.  Also, I added in several additional civilizations (more goblins, a couple of orcs, ogres, giants, etc).  This is in 40d.

Anyway, during the first few years, I had contact with ogres, goblins, and orcs, but then, it stopped... that was over 10 years ago now, and I haven't seen a so much as a thief or babysnatcher, much less an ambush.  My fort wealth has gone from under 1 million to almost 5 million in that time, so it's not a wealth problem, and I've traded a crapton with the humans...

Any ideas?  What's going on here?!?  I have defenses, and I want to use them!  (Also, see note below*)

Have the goblins been trading with you? If so you may be at peace with them. As for the others, well, I guess you just got unlucky.

Well if you remove the [MULTIPLE_LITTER_RARE] tag from dwarves I think they have like 2-4 children each time they give birth. And if you get enough mothers up on the pillars you can probably get a good waterfall going.

While adding magma to anything will make it dwarfy, adding the word "magma" to your post does not necessarily make it funny.
