Item Preservation
« on: August 18, 2010, 04:26:46 pm »

Haven't you always built a fortress with parts of it specifically built for the adventure mode, with your admantine weapons and armor at the end of a labrynth with a puzzle and all... and then worked through all the work to find the empty room with maybe one piece of the treasure you specifically laid out for yourself...?

Well, here's an idea. You can designate items to go in a coffer. And once an item is in a coffer, it doesn't come out (and the coffer doesn't move) until you open it (in fortress or adventure mode, a hundred years later...)

This way, we could build laberynths with real treasures at the end. We could build a fortress, hide the treasure, save it, pass it on, have someone go in adventure mode and find the treasure!

This isn't such a complicated thing, methinks. Just a way to preserve things for adventure mode.

Are there any suggestions in relation to this?

Make a lead bin, put stuff in it. Heavier items get moved smaller distances. I forget which thread that was from.

Yeah item movement depends largely on it's weight, with the introduction of 0.31.x adamantine is VERY light so moves a lot.

It'd be better if everything just stayed put.
