War Challenge.
« on: August 07, 2010, 05:17:31 pm »

Well, I discovered kill orders, and had a wonderful idea for a challenge. While keeping the appearance of a army camp, raise up enough troops to exterminate a pre-existing settlement.

You become extra dwarfy if its an elven forest retreat and you cut down all the trees afterwords.

Depending on the size of the village population, I suspect it could be done with the starting 7, without need for migrants.

I tried it, ended up with one epic swordsdwarf who refused to move from a small valley, but Armok help anyone that strayed in there. all the archers had been killed in the initial attack so there were quite a few humans just standing around the valley, it was like they were saying "We need to kill that guy." "Ha, then you go first hot shot!" "Are you crazy?" but for some reason only a few of the humans turned hostile. Anyway most of the village survived.

When you embark on a town then the inhabitants are friendly...so that explains the friendly part...the reason why some are friendly and others are not....perhaps it is a form of the civil war bug...

I figured it only converted the ones who were attacked, I went after the bowmen and higher skilled soldiers first.

Will do, they captured the booze wagon, this should provide sufficient incentive for the remaining troops to follow orders kill them all follow orders. :)

If it still works like in 40d, you can embark on a goblin tower. they'll become hostile upon the first ambush. Just make sure they're mostly goblins. babysnatching makes them have a very varied society.

In the new versions, you can give your dwarfs orders to kill creatures.
