So, after taking the time to get good at this surprisingly fun RTS, i'm wondering if any of you guys have played it. Its Xbox 360 only, and the campaign is the typical "if we don't stop them humanity will die" kinda deal.
I like online though. I started with 3v3 battles which got me used to how fast people online were (its been a while since the game came out) and i've moved to 1v1 tonight and the change is jarring. Now you actually have to build rush troops, to defend from rushes. Turrets do help but cost a bit so i prefer 2-3 marine squads.
I just had a brilliant game where i kept the opponent on his toes with an early marine rush and then kept using the transport power to bring in reinforcements, and keeping him in one base. He retaliated by upgrading his warthogs and locking his base down, then releasing all his troops in one go, which surprised me. But by this time i had a second base and i had used a map feature to release the flood on him, which I continued to do the entire match.
Of course he upgraded to anti infantry tanks, so i had to switch to air units. I'd planned this however, and picked the general with the aerial super units, which i finally beat him back with.
So guys, thoughts, stories, anything?
Did anyone else find the spartans and forge killing all the elites and arbiters a little too cool, seeing as chief can't do anything like that in his games?
Edit: So that's a resounding "NO" from the BAY12 community.
