Cage Question
« on: August 04, 2010, 06:48:24 pm »

So I have a bunch of tamed elephants in my animal stock pile.  How do I open up the cages to let them out?  I can't seem to link levers up to them.

You have to build a cage, and then assign all the elephants to that cage. Once they are in that cage, you unassign them and a dwarf will release them.

There might be a less complicated way, but that's what I do.

If dwarves decided to live in trees like hippies, they'd still do it better than the elves.

that or as i have found out, designate them to be dumped into a 1 z-lvl pit thats acsessable, (most likely a ramp right next to it) and if their tame they'll be fine and you wont have to deconstruct the cage

Just make sure none of them were imported from Boatmurdered.

If you accidentally lock the elves in the depot and wait until they're insane to capture them in cages and then lock the next group of elves in the depot and unleash the insane elves from their cages, that's still somehow your fault.
