Hello, I can't find the answer on the wiki.

There are three letters, displayed vertically, in the left margin of my main screen.  Currently displayed are a red C, a green H, and a blue S.  What do these mean?  I've seen other letters there at other times.

You have unviewed combat reports; this is a fairly new feature. You can see these by pressing the (r) key. Or maybe it was (R). Anyway, C is for normal reports, and S is for sparring reports. Can't remember what H is.

IIRC the H is for hunting reports.

Oh thank you SO MUCH for respectively asking/answering, this has been driving me nuts!! It also answers the issue of "it's hard to know what is going on re: violence!" Of course, now I feel silly for not thinking of this myself.
