Ah, that would be one of the threads discussing the possibility of dwarves ingame to have miscarriages, visible from their character info screen. And really, with what DF dwarves go through, it's a miracle any are born at all.

One has to imagine dwarf babies are immune to Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, but perhaps not Fetal Sobriety Syndrome. Either way, they must be very hard to kill.
