I have used getlib to install the ia32-libs package and SDL (linux box running GNOME, so GTK is already there).  Whenever I attempt to run the game, I get the following error:

~/Desktop/df_linux$ ./df
./libs/Dwarf_Fortress: error while loading shared libraries: libcaca.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I gather CACA is a graphics package of some sort.  Any ideas on what to do to fix this?

[edit]  I did a 'whereis' for libcaca.so.0, and it exists, so I figured it might have been another set of 32 bit dependencies... running getlibs for both gtk and opengl does not resolve.
