My coins...
« on: July 31, 2010, 03:45:30 pm »

This is a stack of 500 Liroddom 378 silver coin.
This is the silver currency of Liroddom from the year 378.  On the front of the coin is a rendition of a well-designed image of cats.  The image is the symbol of The Climactic Cloisters, a dwarven civilization. On the coin's back is the image of a dwarf.

Oh. No. NOOOOO!!! CATS!
What kind of self-respecting dwarf uses a cat as its symbol? Cat-leather mittens, maybe, but the cat itself!?

I was talking about importing alimunim.
And we were hypothesising about the sexual relations between elves and trees.

Multiple cats, even.

Woe be unto you when the Monarch arrives with their collection of pets.

Okay, so, today this girl I know-Lauren, just took a sudden dis-interest in talking to me. Is she just on her period or something?

Lets not jump to awful conclusions here.  Perhaps it simply signifies the staple food source of your fortress.

Of the civilization, you mean?
I only have one cat...
And coins' images are decided by the monarch...

Staple food source of the Mountainhomes?

I still feel like this is a bad omen.

My civilization's symbol is three crosses, so it's a pretty cool looking coin.  Except for the time some weird bastard put skinless demons on one side...

Do you always look at it in ASCII?

You get used to it, I don't even see the ASCII.  All I see is blacksmith, miner, goblin.

Coin collecting in DF must be a much more interesting hobby.

I've been setting up a coin collection in my fort...500 of each year's standard and commemorative issues are forbidden and stored in the vault.  Not that my dwarves have a use for them with no economy, though.
